A…It depends on the state. Each state has different laws. You must obey the laws of the state you are driving in. It is best to check with the state police of the state(s) you intend to drive in.

Q…How much does a permit cost?
 A…Currently the permit fee is $18.00, but you have to pass the permit test first. The test fee is $40.00. So a learner’s permit will cost $58.00. 

Q…How soon can I get my license?
  A…The DMV requires you to have your permit for a minimum of 4 months before you are eligible to take the road test, If you do the 38 hour driver education program. If you do not do driver education you must wait 6 months before you become eligible. 

Q…Do I get an Insurance discount?
 A…Most insurance companies will give you a 10% to 15% discount for up to 5 years if you successfully complete the 38 hour course.

 A…Your license is valid in all states that allow 16 year olds to drive. If a state requires you to be 17 or 18 years old to drive, then you should not drive in that state.

  A…Not more than $77.00. Your license will expire 6 years from the date of your last birthday. You will not pay for the time from your last birthday to the time you get your license. Your first license will cost less than $77.00.
