Teen Driver Information

Learning to drive is often the turning point of a young person’s life. The freedom that comes with a driver’s license is exhilarating. This freedom is tempered by responsibility and respect for the rules of the road as well as other drivers. Western Connecticut Driving Institute is a place where the young and old alike can learn the skills and rules required of them to be a safe, responsible, and courteous driver.

“Westcon” Driving offers many programs to get you the instruction you need, and the services you require. Whether it is first time driving instruction for a teenager or driver improvement for a seasoned veteran of the highways, we offer the flexibility and professional instruction that you expect from a leader in the field of driving instruction.

There are two options available to you for the driving test:

Option 1
You can go to the DMV to do your driving test. If you choose this option, you must make an appointment at the DMV, and provide your own properly documented vehicle.

You will drive in the vicinity of the DMV for approximately twenty minutes. You must control the car properly, obey the law, apply the rules of the road, do a “K” turn and back the car into a parking space.

Option 2
This option is provided to our students at no extra charge.

You can choose to test with “Westcondriving”, at our facility in Brookfield.

You will drive in the vicinity of the driving school for approximately twenty minutes. You will use one of our cars. Traditionally, the inspectors do not ask you to drive on the highway or do parallel parking.
